The first international scientific and practical conference on the theme:"Yezidis: History. Culture. Spirituality. Modernity".Organized by the Institute of Oriental Studies of the Russian Academy of Sciences and the Institute of Yezidian History and Religion (I.Y.H.R).

Right at the beginning, with a welcoming speech to the participants of the conference were: Deputy Director of the Institute of Oriental Studies of the Russian Academy of Sciences, Doctor of History, Professor Belokrenitsky Vyacheslav Yakovlevich and Director of the Research Institute I.Y.H.R, candidate of political sciences Dasni Yuri Romanovich.

Reports were made by Yezidi scholars, writers, linguists, Kurdologists and members of the Yezidi centers.

Here are few names of participants: Zare Alievna Yusupova (Doctor of Philology, adviser and professor at the Institute of Oriental Studies of the Russian Academy of Sciences, St. Petersburg) "The History of studying Yezidism". Lana M. Ravandi - Fadai (PhD in Historical Sciences, Senior Researcher at the Institute of Oriental Studies, Russian Academy of Sciences) "Yezidi's Morals and Customs". Moshe Salih (president of Duhok University, KRG) "Yezidi’s religion as the basis of Kurdish culture". Tosne Rashid (Kurdish writer) "Ezdiyeti: Pewendiyen Diroki". Khudhur Suleiman (historian at the Yezidi Center in Oldenburg, Germany) "The Yezidi and Kurdish heritage". Darya Vladimirovna Zhigulskaya (PhD in Historical Sciences, Junior Research Fellow at the Institute of Asian and African Studies, Moscow State University) «Yezidis from Turkey». Valery Еmelyanov (Executive Director of the Association for International Cooperation "Time and Peace" and columnist at RiaTaza website) "Yezidism and Islam (the view of a Muslim and a historian - a religious scholar) to the formulation of the problem". Kirill V. Vertyaev (PhD in Historical Sciences, senior researcher at the Institute for Oriental Studies  of the  Russian Academy of Sciences) "The Yezidi Factor in the striving self-determination of Iraqi Kurdistan". Bugai Nikolai Fedorovich (Doctor of Historical Sciences, Professor). “Public associations of Yezidis in the system of interethnic relations.”. Teimuraz Avdoev (philosopher, theosophist, writer) "History of Yezidism from a religious standpoint". Salavat Gallyamov (writer, linguist) "Kurds - Bashkurds - Yezidis".

In total, 15 reports were presented at the conference. The total number of participants was above 55 people, of whom 11 from the Institute of Oriental Studies, 9 from other educational institutions and organizations in Russia, 4 foreigners.

The conference was held in an active, working atmosphere with a friendly exchange of views and practical experience.  The authors of the reports were invited to continue the research in the declared fields, and a decision was taken on further cooperation of the conference participants.

Reports of the conference will be collected and published in the form of a book.
