Ancient Sites of Raprin to Go on Google Earth
The entire ancient and archeological sites within Raprin administrative area (Sulaimaniyah province) will be registered in Google Earth program, a related official stated.
Speaking to BasNews on Thursday, Barzan Bayiz, Raprin archeology director, said over 350 ancient sites are located in Raprin but the public does not have enough knowledge about their exact location, history and image.
To better introduce these locations, a French archeological team is helping Raprain Archeology Directorate to insert them into Google Earth program, the official added.
Bayiz indicated the same team has plans to carry out excavation work for the ancient Hill of Bosken near the town of Raniya and Mewe Cave in Pishdar region.
Raparin, is an administrative area in Sulaimaniyah, which includes the towns of Raniya and Qaladze and some townships and districts.
